The transformation to winter wonderland is nearly complete now; a thick blanket of snow and a lot of cold have a firm grip on the Tri-state. Flurries and light snow showers will continue on and off through the day with little or no additional accumulation. Temperatures are going to hold right around 20 through the day with enough wind to make it feel like 10, so if you plan on heading out to the Bengals game dress in layers and hats and gloves are necessary. The light snow should finally wind down tonight, and brighter skies will be seen on Sunday…but it will not warm up much. Things could get interesting on Monday with another clipper forecast to move in, some snow accumulation will be possible Monday and Monday night, but it doesn’t look like anything more than an inch with most spots probably seeing less than that. Flakes with this clipper end on Tuesday, and then a pattern change in the atmosphere that will lead to a big-time warm up should kick in, temperatures in the 30-40 degree range are expected for the second half of the week with mainly dry skies and a lot of sunshine – so the snow it really going to start to melt! One thing we will have to watch for late in the week is a back door cold front trying to move through late on Thursday, that could result in some light rain late in the day and into the first part of Friday…temperatures could drop below freezing on Friday morning so potentially this could be a light freezing rain event. This is only a very small chance for precipitation at this point and is not something we are too concerned with at this point, so I wouldn’t worry about it and just know we will keep an eye on it and keep you posted. Stay tuned!
Still Snowing…
